A Packaged Deal? 3 Reasons To Invest In A Bridal Set

by Barry Graves

Finding an engagement ring for your upcoming wedding and marriage can be a difficult task; it involves finding styles, settings, colors, gemstones, and metals that all work together harmoniously without sending you rocketing past your budget before you even say, "I Do." One of the most stressful parts about ring shopping, however, is working about how a wedding band will look with it.

It doesn't have to be this stressful if you turn your attention to bridal sets while shopping. Bridal sets are rings that come pre-accessorized, with the wedding band constructed as part of the ring itself (and then removed until the ceremony). If you're looking for a few reasons to invest in a bridal set, then here's what you need to know.

1. It Saves Money

If you're having trouble with your wedding budget (and with all of the reservations, rentals, and decorative twists that weddings take, a lot of couples do have problems with their budgets), a bridal set is a great way to go.

Many jewelers will give you discounts on your engagement ring and wedding band when you buy the two in a bridal set — which is good news if you're looking for a way to cut a few dollars without actually scrimping on quality.

2. It Can Be Upgraded

If you really prefer to have everything matching and cohesive on the wedding day (and beyond), bridal sets can be taken a step further and be upgraded into wedding sets, which are bridal sets plus the groom's ring — three matching, aesthetically-cohesive rings for the two of you to cherish.

Not only can this save you money (see the above section for more details), but you can also save time by investing in a wedding set. Instead of spending time going store to store trying to match a photo of your engagement ring to the options in the store, you can rest easy knowing that all three rings are perfectly suited to each other.

3. It Offers a Complete Ring

If you've found an engagement ring that you absolutely love, it can be hard to find a wedding band that matches it perfectly without detracting from the overall effect or from your enjoyment of your ring.

This doesn't have to be the case if you shop bridal sets though; this ensures that the rings you look at will be complete in and of themselves, without you having to worry about then finding a wedding band that suits both you and the ring.
